The Saying Goes...

Ever heard the saying "Good things come to those who wait"... I happen to really believe in this. What about "Eveything happens for a reason", another one I have a strong belief in.

These sayings could come across quite vague when you first look at them, but if you seriously read into them and see them for what they really mean you may actually get a message, a meaning out of them. I am at a stage in my life now where these sayings are very much a part of my mantra. They are helping me get through each day. Not that I have a totally bad life or anything! I have been so lucky in my life so far. I have an amazing boyfriend, a great bestie (not to mention my other friends!), a happy and healthy family.
I've had three amazing years of experience at one of the, actually make that THE HOTTEST TEEN MAG in the country right now, Girlfriend Magazine.
Now leaving the world of lipgloss and pink walls is starting to take a toll on me. I miss writing, I miss talking about celebs like it was going out of fashion. I miss having an office full of people who wore all the colours of the rainbow AND were all from the Love Generation.
It was time to move on, time to try new things.

But, this my friends is where "Everything happens for a reason" comes into my life.
This happened so I could figure out what it was that I really wanted to spend the rest of my life doing, what my passion was. And my passion is writing (believe it or not!)! I have enrolled into a Magazine Feature Writing course which I start next week.
So there you go "Everything happens for a reason!"
I'll have to reveal the "Good things come to those who wait" at the end of the week to you! Stay tuned..

Poor Paris...

Yes that's right the one girl who has it all with her convertible car, her "Simple Life" TV show and her infamous friends and party stunts, her father's empire has seemed to give her everything and get her everywhere.
But this is one pickle that Miss Hilton can't seem to talk her way out of.
She was pulled over on February 27, when she was spotted speeding down Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood. Police discovered the singer/sctress/notorious party gal/sex-video star was driving with a suspended license, which came about after her DUI arrest last year.
The girl who gets paid thousands up on thousands of $$$ to appear at functions isn't too happy about what the outcome of her sentence was. Not to mention her mother Kathy Hilton who said, "This is pathetic and disgusting, a waste of taxpayer money with this nonsense. It's a joke,".
Paris was sentenced to 45 days in a California jail on Friday and it seems that she really doesn't want to serve it as she is very scared of what the inmates will do to her.
I personally think that the judge wasn't very understanding and making her go to jail isn't the right desicion. Although alot of people are saying she needs to do her time in order to learn her lesson. And let's face it, she's not super-human, she's not just going to get away with a crime, like any other person out there.
Apparently the latest in this saga is the that fact that she has written a letter to appeal her sentence but is due to check into the cell on June 5.

How good are Thursdays?

Not my favourite day of the week, but getting close to it. Thursday afternoons always make me go loopy. It's kinda weird, see I start getting really excited for the weekend coz it's so close you can almost taste it but not really. It's like when you're about to go out for dinner (or planning to) and you start thinking about what you're going to order, or when you buy that hot dress online and you're just waiting for it to arrive it's in sight, but not quite at the same time.
Usually I hear a song that will get me keen to leave work and/or get up and start dancing. Last friday that song was Scissor Sisters "I don't feel like dancing." Today that song was Third Eye Blind "Semi-Charmed Life". Hey, when you work at a radio station these random songs are just gold and the highlight of one's day.
As you can see I get quite excited about the weekend these days. They're just filled with so much excitement; catching up with friends, sleep-ins, staying out late, drinking, eating, shopping - my list could go on forever.

Miss Simpson

If you know me personally you'll know that I am a major fan of Jessica Simpson.
Like her NUMBER ONE FAN!!! The reason my hair is blonde and long is because of her. I have even started to think about what I would like as a brunette (and I'll admit it) purely because it looks HOT on Jess.
What's not to love about her? She's kooky, cool, beautiful and big boobed. Every guy wants her and every girl wants to be her at least once in their lives.
What else do I love about Jessica? She embraces herself, the fact that she may have put on a a few kilos since being with Nick (mind you she was a stick insect anyway)who cares? She's now with a gorgeous down-to-earth rocker dude.
As if there's not a miliion and one things to love about this girl she's given us one more! So far she's given us a beauty line, Dessert (an edible one at that!), hair extensions, Hair U Wear. Now... Drumrool please, she is bringing us a fashion line.
Jessica Simpson footwear, apparel and accessories will be launched in Oz in the near future and will be aimed at women 18-30. Her products have been described as "fashion forward, accessible, comfortable & timeless". Jessica says "I am every girl, I want my clothing to be accessible and fun... I want women and girls to feel comfortable and confident wearing my products,"
She had me at the word Fashion Line! I can't wait! And if the photo I have included(of Jessica) is anything to judge by this really is the start of a world wide empire for Jess. Move over Oprah - Jessica will be next with a talk-show!

Space Cadet

Today I have decided to survey a couple of my friends and see what websites they're hearting at the moment.

So far the top ones are: myspace.com, whowhatweardaily.com, monsterchildren.com, pinkisthenewblog.com.

For those of you who know nothing about these sites I would like to give you some insight into them.

1. www.myspace.com
OK, whoever does not know what this one is then shame on you! Nearly half the population has one, as you may have read in my previous blogs.
A way of meeting new people and catching up with old ones (I've found all my old school friends!)this is the place to be! Decorate your 'space' to how you would like the world to see you, but beware of hackers!

2. www.whowhatweardaily.com
This site is pretty damn cool. Kind of like an online mag (that's what I've interperated it as anyways)With the tagline "We don't care who you date or if you eat. We only care about what you wear."
This site is basically here to show all us chicks exactly what's going on in the celeb world - fashion wise! Colour nailpolishes or headbands - what sunnies Nicole is wearing and what pants Mischa is wearing are all available here. I heart this site something chronic! I wonder if they have a myspace? Thanks to Jill and Liz for pointing that one out to moi!

3. www.monsterchildren.com
Ok the fact that my graphic designer friend TJ pointed this one out and I know my boyfriend (who also is a graphic designer)is a fan of this site I know it is for all the creatives out there.
A very funky, cool magazine, Monster Children is every designer's dream. They have beautifully deisgned pages and it is quite obviously a mag aimed at the creatively- minded. So if you're one of those people's who's into clean, perfectly laid out pages in a mag this one's for you!

4. www.pinkisthenewblog.com
If you tune into my blog everyday and you're a regular gossip then you'll love this site too. With Trent as your host, he takes you into the world of celebrity goss and shows you the glamorous (and not so glamorous) side of this world. Pretty hilarious stuff Trent isn't afraid to share his personal views with the world.

Post MTV Awards..

G'day all.
So it seems that every year when the MTV Video Music Awards are on in Sydney the line up of celebs gets bigger and bigger.
Last year, the host Ashlee Simpson and her sister Jessica came along. The Veronicas were a huge deal and this year we had Fergie, Pink, The Good Charlotte boys, the girlfriends of the Good Charlotte boys- newly besties Sophie Monk and Nicole Richie. (My personal faves!)
I actually found out last week that Nicole was set to arrive at Sydney airport at app. 7am on Saturday morning. As excited as I was and eager to go I just couldn't coax any of my friends to come with me and what fun would screaming at Nicole Richie be if I didn't have my mates by my side? That, and I was also one very hung over little girl on Saturday morning.
So now that I have missed out on my chance of meeting Miss Richie I am trying to find her whereabouts and track her down before she departs from the country. I have heard that she is staying at The Hilton in Sydney's CBD.
Last night was where the after-party of the MTV's were held so that is where all the celebs partied on til. Maybe I'll hack into the hotel's room system...mayeb not.
I may be making an appearance there this weekend.
I swear I'm not a stalker.

"This is Big Brother..."

Not sure if you're too concerned about the Big Borther bunch this year. But OMG we really are set for the BEST BB ever.
With the first week nearly over and already we know that there is a couple in the house, ex body builder Hayley and her beau Andrew are secretly trying to hide their romance. As hard as this may be BB decided to throw a very hot spanner in the works and add Hayley's ex boyfriend to the bix.
His mission is to put a strain on the couple's relationship and has been given tasks such as 'picking Hayley flowers and handing them to her, and generally getting in between the two.
Personally I am hooked on this show and I hate to admit it but I have been for quite some time now. When Marty and Jess first got together in the 2nd BB series I couldn't stop watching. I just couldn't believe how in love two people could be from just meeting on a reality TV show like that!
I know alot of you out there think it is crap TV, but if you do give it a chance I'm sure you'd be hooked too (whether or not you'll admit to that is another question!)
On Sunday night BB will reveal to the other housemates that the couple is in fact Hayley and Andrew and that Billy is in fact Hayley's Ex.
I wonder how Andrew will react to this....
Can't wait to see the result!

P.S Camilla (from last year's 2006 Big Brother) is pregnant!
Her partner Glen and her are very happy and quote "It was totally unexpected news but we're so happy". Aaaww! Hhmm there's a thought BB a pregnant woman in The House!
