Hello there Blogettes,
Your average girl next door is who I am.
I'll give you a quick history on myself.
I'll just fast foward up until I hit 18 years old. I finished high school, decided that uni wasn't for me and gave Girlfriend Magazine a call. I had already completed a couple of months work experience at the publication. There just happened to be a position going so I went for it and got it on Christmas Eve!
Up until a couple of months ago I thought that my dream was to become a Fashion Editor. I did LOVE fashion (let's face it every girl does) and I thought that working in that part of a magazine would be heaven! After working at Girlfriend for three years, in this time I was Fashion Assistant, Editorial Assistant and Features Assistant,I decided that as much as I loved writing and as much as I loved magazines, fashion , beauty - the lot, it was time for me tomove on. I needed something more,a bigger challenge.
So I decided to spread my wings and step into the world of radio.
I was lucky enough to be picked to start working at DMG radio Australia where I am the Direct Client Coordinator of vega 95.3fm (GREATTTTT! Station BTW).
So here I am Fulfilling my dreams in the land of radio and let me asure you it is a great land!music, interviews and Live Reads. I am learning new things, meeting new people and I've got that feeling of excitment. The feeling where you step into a new job and a new role and realise how lucky you are to be alive. Look at what I have acheived and I'm only 21 years of age. Pretty damn good. Pat on the back for moi.
Moving into this new role made me realise that no matter what your profession if you have 2nd thoughts about what you're doing it's OK to change your mind about it. It's OK to branch out into different places. It could just bring you to something you never expected could happen.
Til next time,
Girl Next Door xx
P.S Don't leave home with your lipgloss this weekend!
